MRF ZLO - Tyre Review

I was planing to change Tyre for my Swift VXi model from past two months. I researched a lot in internet regarding which tyre was suitable for an upgrade to my cars existing tyre size of 165/80 R14 85S. I found suitable tyre sizes options for upgrade from internet as follows:

185/70 R14   FRONT/REAR
195/60 R15   FRONT/REAR
205/60 R15   FRONT/REAR

So I decided to go in for 185/70 R14 as it would be safe bet for my 2006 Dec model Swift VXi. Then I started researching on which all companies have this tyre size and compare each one of them. Following gives an idea of which all companies have this tyre size.

Energy XM2 - 185/70R14

Energy XM1+ - 185/70R14

POTENZA GIII sports - 205/60R14- 185/70R14

Potenza-SPORTY - 205/60R14 - 185/70R14

Turanza-TOURING AR10 - 185/70R14

Turanza-TOURING ER-60 - 185/70R14

ZV2K TL - 165/80R14

ZVTS - 165/80R14

ZVTS TL - 185/70R14

ZLO – 185/70R14

In my research I was finding very good reviews for both Michelin and Bridgestone but not so much for MRF. But when I searched more regarding MRF ZLO I came to know that its much much better than any other tyre's now available in India. MRF ZLO anti symmetrical design is the plus point for the same. See below image which I got from Team-BHP website, will explain about what I am talking about.

This is the first international quality Tyre made from MRF stable and I finally decided to go in with the same for all 5 including my spare tyre. I got a good deal also from Sri Sai Baba Tyres near to Lalbagh cricle, opp. to Hindustan Marbles and Granite shop. It will cost you Rs 3850/- per tyre. There is a huge difference after replacing my old OEM JK Tyre with MRF ZLO. It rides very smooth and much better handing and breaking is felt now. It feels much smooth when getting in with pot holes and humps. I would surely recommend this to everyone who is lookign for a new tyre.

Hi Abhilash,
I would recommend you to go for an upgrade to 185/70/R14 as it improved handling and riding dramatically in my car when compared to OEM JK Types 165/80/R14 tyres. I also notice slight improvement in the mileage as compared to old tyre as I was usually getting 12-13 KMPL in city which has marginally improved to 14-15KMPL in city. Yet to go for a long drive with new tyres so not able to comment on highway mileage now. As comparing with Bridgestone it is having very good soft rubber to tyres that makes drive comfortable and now MRF ZLO is comparable in this front with the same quality rubber and also you can save atleast 700-800 per tyre compared to Bridgestone tyres.

Hi I have recently installed MRF ZLO on to my Manza upgraded it to 195/60/15 . it was a difficult decision to really choose the brand . After a lot of search I decided for ZLO and believe it it's the best and comparable equally to any foreign brands like michelene or yoko . Indian manufacturers are no less . The tyres are soft take almost most of the small undulations and gives a smooth drive . Drivability has improved . Overall driving has improved drastically . I have a michelene on my fiesta and the comparison. Is both the tyres are equal . But With MRF there is advantage is they are cheaper by 900 INR and quality is the same . I suggest trust Indian brands

Hello there,

I believe you have been using the ZLO from sometime now. Can you give some feedback? I am also looking for an upgrade for my Dzire VDI. Looking at Michelin XM2, hows ZLO performing?

Breaking?
Tyre noise?
Grip in sharp turns?
