Today I saw a very very emotional movie Daivathirumagal acted by Vikram. It is one of the best performances given by Vikram in this movie and has a scope for second national award for him. The film has a base story line of the English emotional drama movie 'I am Sam' played by Sean Penn. In this movie Virkam plays as a father who is mentally not developed of a 5 year old daughter played by Baby Sara who also has given a stunning performance. Vikrams wife dies while giving birth to his daughter and he has the responsibility of bringing up his child. In between his kid is found by his wife relative and then they took her with them. A lawyer who is played by Anushka, comes to the rescue of Vikram for getting her daughter back to him. The movie moves through lot of emotional scenes which makes us cry and has a strong script to back with the performance of Vikram and Baby Sara. Vikram has shown that he is among the best when it comes to handling challenging and off-beat roles. He has gone that extra mile to make his role credible and appealing. Baby Sara is charm personified. She handles her role in an amazing manner. She steals the show in the court scene. I almost forgot to mention about the music in this movie, which is fantastic and heart touching. We have got a great movie in Tamil after a long gap I guess.
This is a must watch movie and I strongly recommend for a good weekend viewing. I give 4 out of 5 for this very emotional drama.
